TPCs famed island hole added to Kodak Challenge

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Kodak Challenge is adding the 17th island hole at the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course to its collection of holes this year.

The 14th hole of Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club at the RBC Canadian Open and the 18th hole at Plainfield Country Club in The Barclays have also been added to the competition.

The Kodak Challenge awards $1 million to the PGA Tour pro who puts together the lowest total on 18 holes in the challenge’s collection of holes. Thirty holes are in play in the Challenge with Tour pros required to play 18 holes to be eligible for the big payday.

Jarrod Lyle (6 under par) leads this season's competition heading into this week’s Arnold Palmer Invitational. The 18th hole at Bay Hill (par 4, 449 yards) is a Kodak Challenge hole. Troy Merritt won last year’s Kodak Challenge with Kevin Streelman winning in the inaugural season.

The 17th island hole at TPC Sawgrass will come into play at The Players Championship May 12-15 at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.
