Tree trouble at Augusta

RSS

AUGUSTA, Ga. – A cool breeze and the steady buzz of chainsaws, wood chippers and Augusta National’s Sub-Air system greeted patrons and players early Tuesday at the Masters.

Heavy overnight rains delayed the opening of gates on property and numerous trees across the property had fallen during the overnight storm, including a large oak adjacent the first fairway.

Officials, however, didn’t appear too worried about the heavy rains, partly because of the state-of-the-art Sub-Air system and a dry, warming forecast into the weekend.
