PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – The Bear Trap will offer a different challenge Sunday with the weather changing dramatically.
With prevailing winter winds from out of the Southeast here, the shots into the greens at the 15th, 16th and 17th holes are typically played with the wind blowing from right to left and a little into a player’s face.
With thunderstorms rolling in from out of the Northwest, the winds with them will blow mostly from left to right, with quartering winds more helping than hurting.
The forecast calls for a first thin line of storms to arrive about 11 a.m., bringing wind gusts of up to 40 mph. The forecast is windy but clear after that with a 30 percent chance of more storms arriving about 3 p.m.
Tee times were moved up Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m., with the leaders to go off at 10:30 a.m. Play is in threesomes off the first and 10th tees.
