Tseng fails to break par again, shoots 76 at Evian

RSS

Yani Tseng’s woes continued Thursday in the first round of the Evian Masters.

Tseng, who is using a new caddie this week, posted a 4-over-par 76, the 12th consecutive round she has failed to break par. She is 37 over par in that sluggish run.

With Stacy Lewis posting a 63, Tseng ends the first round 13 shots behind the leader. Despite three victories already this year, she finds herself amid the first real challenge to her form since she gained the Rolex world No. 1 ranking 76 weeks ago.

Barring a sharp turnaround, Tseng will leave Evian amid the longest winless drought since she became the game’s top player. It will mark her eighth consecutive LPGA event without a title. She hasn’t gone more than seven in a row without winning since she gained the top ranking.
