Here we go again.
With Sunday’s victory at the RR Donnelley LPGA Founders Cup, Yani Tseng didn’t just strengthen her already iron grip on the No. 1 Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking; she also strengthened the psychological advantage she is gaining on her fellow LPGA pros.
“She’s amazing,” Na Yeon Choi said after finishing a stroke behind Tseng. “I mean she plays so well. She never looks nervous or as if there’s pressure on her. She has a lot of confidence right now.”
Tseng showed that making the turn three shots off the lead and then making birdies over five of the next six holes at Marriott's Wildfire Golf Club in Phoenix.
“I don’t know who can stop her right now,” Choi said. “She’s so amazing, and she hits it really far. Me and Ai [Miyazato], we tried our best, but she’s pretty far away from us.”
That’s two victories in four LPGA events for Tseng so far this year. Since the start of last summer, she is winning nearly half of the LPGA events she plays. Since June of 2011, she has won eight of 18 starts.
