Tseng makes first hole-in-one as pro at Wegmans LPGA

PITTSFORD, N.Y. – Yani Tseng made her first hole-in-one since turning professional six years ago.

Tseng holed an 8-iron from 140 yards at the 15th hole Friday at the Wegmans LPGA Championship on her way to an even-par 72 in the first round.

“I’ve been waiting a long time,” Tseng, 24, said of the ace.

Tseng had four aces as an amateur before turning pro.

Tseng reports her tonsillitis is healing, but she still has inflammation of her gums, which makes eating difficult.

“I’m like an old person now,” Tseng cracked. “I can’t chew.”
