Tseng newest face in No 1 mix

Yani Tseng is just the sixth player to ascend to the No. 1 ranking in the history of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Ranking.

Tseng moves up to the top spot for the first time this week after winning the Australian Ladies Masters Sunday, giving her back-to-back titles in Australia to open the 2011 season. She beat former No. 1 Jiyai Shin last week at the Australian Women’s Open. Tseng will tee it up in the LPGA season opener this week at the Honda LPGA Thailand.

Annika Sorenstam was the first No. 1 when the Rolex world rankings made their debut on Feb. 21, 2006.

Lorena Ochoa took over in April of 2007 and held the top spot until retiring from full-time play in April of last year. Shin, Ai Miyazato and Cristie Kerr took turns holding the top spot after Ochoa.
