The No. 1 player in the world was a shocking upset victim in the third round of the LPGA Sybase Match Play Championship on Saturday.

Yani Tseng lost, 3 and 2, to No. 49 seed Candie Kung in her round-of-16 match. After falling as much as three holes behind on the front nine, Tseng battled back to 1 down at the 13th hole. After a halve at 14, Kung won the next two holes to close out the world No. 1.

“Actually I wasn’t surprised I lost,' Tseng said, 'because I played bad this week but it’s disappointing. I like match play but I just couldn’t get it in the hole.”

Kung will take on Julieta Granada, who defeated Karine Icher, 1 up.

Morgan Pressel moved on, beating Na Yeon Choi in 19 holes. Anna Nordqvist defeated Amy Yang, 2 and 1, to set up a quarterfinal match with the American.

Vicky Hurst defeated Angela Stanford, 2 and 1. She will take on So Yeon Ryu, who dispatched Katherine Hull by a 5-and-4 margin.

Stacy Lewis will face Spaniard Azahara Munoz, who took out English rookie Jodi Ewart, 2 and 1. Lewis beat Sun Young Yoo, 1 up, to continue her quest for a second consecutive win.
