FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The second round of the U.S. Open was suspended due to darkness at 8:24 p.m. The second round is scheduled to resume at 7:30 a.m. Saturday but there is an 80 percent chance of thunderstorms by early afternoon. Tiger Woods has a 10:06 a.m. tee time.
Lucas Glover is at 6 under through 13 holes, Ricky Barnes is 5 under through nine holes, and Peter Hanson and Mike Weir are both 4 under after 11 and nine holes, respectively.
Glover, 29, is making his fourth start at the U.S. Open, but has never made a cut. His first start, oddly enough, was at the 2002 Open here at Bethpage Black, where he shot 74-77. He also missed the cut in 2006 and 2007. This is Glover’s 12th major championship and his best finish is a 20th-place tie at the 2007 Masters.
