Three months have now passed since champion skiier Lindsey Vonn made public her relationship with the world's No. 1 golfer, Tiger Woods. According to Vonn, there are still some adjustments to be made as half of one of the most notable couples in sports.
'Wherever he's around, we're living in a fishbowl. I didn't quite know what I was getting myself into,' the skiier explained as part of an interview with the New York Times. 'It's weird. But it's just something I have to deal with. He has his job, and I have mine. I just have to get used to it.'
Vonn, 28, won two medals at the 2010 Olympics and reiterated her ability – and desire – to stand apart from her famous beau based on her own athletic merits.
'Some people seem to forget that I'm not just Tiger's girlfriend,' she noted. 'I'm actually a successful athlete. I'm Lindsey. I have my own career and my own life.'
As she continues to rehab a knee injury with an eye on returning to the Olympics next year in Sochi, Russia, Vonn underscored that things between her and Woods are 'great.'
'I'm not an idiot; I try not to look, but I see what people say about me on Facebook. I see other things written,' she added. 'But I don't care. I learned a while ago from my divorce that my happiness is the most important thing. That's all I can control. And right now, I'm happy.'
