Walker Cup pairings announced for Day 2


SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. – The Americans need only 5 1/2 points to win back the Walker Cup, and they will send out two of their go-to pairings in an attempt to build an insurmountable lead in the morning.

The foursomes opener, set for 7:15 a.m. ET, will be a rematch of one of Saturday’s best matches: the U.S. team of Cory Whitsett and Bobby Wyatt against Nathan Kimsey and Max Orrin. On Saturday, the Americans stole a half point after GB&I three-putted from about 35 feet on the final green.

The rest of the foursomes matches:

7:30 a.m.: Michael Weaver-Todd White (U.S.) vs. Matt Fitzpatrick-Neil Raymond

7:45 a.m.: Max Homa-Michael Kim (U.S.) vs. Garrick Porteous-Rhys Pugh

8 a.m.: Patrick Rodgers-Jordan Niebrugge (U.S.) vs. Gavin Moynihan-Kevin Phelan

The 10 singles matches are scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.

12:30 p.m.: Bobby Wyatt (U.S.) vs. Neil Raymond (GB&I)

12:42: Justin Thomas vs. Max Orrin 

12:54: Michael Weaver vs. Matt Fitzpatrick

1:06: Todd White vs. Rhys Pugh

1:18: Nathan Smith vs. Nathan Kimsey

1:30: Cory Whitsett vs. Callum Shinkwin

1:42: Michael Kim vs. Garrick Porteous

1:54: Max Homa vs. Kevin Phelan

2:06: Jordan Niebrugge vs. Jordan Smith
