Warm, dry start for opening round of British Open

RSS

GULLANE, Scotland – The weather can change in an instant in these parts, but the forecast for the opening round of the British Open is warm with plenty of sunshine.

The rest of the week looks dry, too.

The high temperature Thursday will reach 74 degrees and, better still, there is zero percent chance of rain. The wind is expected to blow 5-10 mph, with gusts up to 15 mph. In other words, a wee breeze.

The forecast is similar for the rest of the week at Muirfield. On Friday, the temperature is expected to rise to about 73 degrees, with plenty of sunshine. The weekend looks fine too, with an overcast start giving way to a clear afternoon.
