Weather suspends Memorial; Rory still on course

DUBLIN, Ohio – It was a little later than expected, but the storm that was forecast to hit Muirfield Village finally sent players and fans scrambling for cover at 4:49 p.m. (ET).

It was the second time on Friday the weather warning horn blew and officials were expecting heavy rains and winds that could reach 60 mph. Play resumed at 6:15 p.m., after an hour and a half delay.

Bill Haas was three clear of the field at 9 under after finishing his round before the delays, while world No. 1 Tiger Woods rallied to make the cut following an eventful 74 on Day 2.

World No. 2 Rory McIlroy also rallied after an opening 78. The Ulsterman was 3 under for the day and left of the 12th green when play was stopped. McIlroy is at 3 over and just inside the cut.
