Win vaults Haas in Presidents Cup standings


Two years ago, Bill Haas needed a captain's pick to make the Presidents Cup team for the first time in his career, just weeks removed from winning the 2011 FedEx Cup. After his win Sunday at the AT&T National, though, the former Wake Forest standout jumped six spots in the U.S. standings and is now well on his way to qualifying for this year's team on his own merit.

Players have several weeks left to accrue points, with the top 10 of both the U.S. and International teams finalized following the Deutsche Bank Championship in September. On Wednesday, Sept. 4, captains Fred Couples and Nick Price will add two captain's picks each to round out the field of 24 participants.

The Presidents Cup will be contested Oct. 3-6 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio. Here is a look at how the current standings shape up:
