Winds of change at Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Ran into Jason Day’s caddie Col Swatton this morning walking Augusta National some three hours before his man tees off in the day’s final pairing with Rory McIlroy.

Swatton, who is also Day’s swing coach, noted a new wind direction. So far this week the wind has been out of the south and south west. As storms approached the club on Saturday it had shifted out of the north, which seems to explain lower scores at the par-5 second hole.

So far today there have already been two eagles, and 13 birdies, compared to just one eagle on Thursday and Friday combined.
