It’s been a season of firsts for Tiger Woods. First he was bounced from the top spot in the World Golf Ranking and now, 11 shots adrift with one round to play at the WGC-HSBC Champions, he seems destined to record his first winless PGA Tour season.
Woods is also learning to deal with a common ailment among rank-and-file players – the practice range golfer.
“I warm up pretty good, but then on the golf course when I have to hit certain shots or I don't feel comfortable, I kind of revert back to my old stuff, and therein lies the problem, because I'm caught right in between,” said Woods, who is currently tied for 17th after rounds of 68-72-73.
“Shag Bag” knows the feeling.
