WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W. Va. – He owns 74 career PGA Tour titles and has won everywhere from Germany to Japan to Australia. Tiger Woods may have a been-there, done-that air about him, but he confirmed on Tuesday that he hasnt been everywhere.

In advance of his debut at this weeks Greenbrier Classic, Woods claimed that this is his first-ever trip to West Virginia.

Im excited about being here, he said just two days after winning the AT&T National in Bethesda, Md. You know, the only connection Ive really had to West Virginia has probably been either Sam Snead or my college roommate. Other than that, thats about it. Its fantastic to be here, and Im really looking forward to getting out there.

When pressed for information about that freshman year roommate, Woods would only allow, He was from West Virginia. Im not going to give his name because Im sure youll research him. So well let him be, but Ill tell you what – the dude was smart.
