Woods 'moving forward' from Chamblee comments

RSS

World No. 1 Tiger Woods is 'moving forward' from a recent situation with Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee after the analyst's on-air comments Wednesday, according to Woods' agent Mark Steinberg.

'We're not going to comment any further, we're done,' Steinberg told the AFP while at an appearance in Singapore. 'We're done speaking about it. I've got a lot of work to do ahead of me and Tiger's got a lot to do ahead of him, so we're just moving forward.'

The original dispute arose from an Oct. 15 article penned by Chamblee for Golf.com in which he gave Woods an 'F' for the 2013 season due to the 14-time major winner being 'a little cavalier with the rules.'

In comments made Wednesday on 'Golf Central,' Chamblee noted that an insinuation that Woods cheated 'went too far.'

'Cheating involves intent,' said Chamblee, who resigned his position with Golf magazine effective at the end of the year. 'There's no way that I could know with 100 percent certainty what Tiger's intent was in any of those situations. That was my mistake.'

While Woods is not in the field for this week's WGC-HSBC Champions in Shanghai, he has made several sponsor appearances in Asia following Monday's exhibition match with Rory McIlroy in China. Woods will return to action next week on the European Tour, teeing it up in the Turkish Airlines Open beginning Thursday.
