Woods talks to Williams, says 'not a racist'

RSS

Tiger Woods said Steve Williams’ comments were hurtful, but, other than that, didn’t sound too worked up over words that have sent the rest of the golf world into a tizzy. Woods shook hands with Williams Tuesday at The Lakes Club in Sydney, Australia and Williams apologized.

“Stevie certainly is not a racist, there’s no doubt about that,” Woods said. “It was a comment that shouldn’t have been made and it was certainly one that he wished he didn’t make.

“It was a wrong thing to say. We’re moving forward.”

At a caddie awards party last week in Shanghai, Williams talked about a television interview he gave following a victory with new employer Adam Scott and said 'it was my aim to shove it up that black (expletive).'
