Having just completed his own playoff run in the FedEx Cup, Zach Johnson knows all about the every-week-counts mantra in college football.
So it was fitting, then, that on Monday, Johnson, the BMW Championship winner, stopped in Tuscaloosa to tour two-time defending NCAA champion Alabama’s football facility and visit with head coach Nick Saban.
As Saban told reporters Monday at his weekly news conference: “He said there are three parts to this: the mental part, the physical part and the technical part. And that’s so right in his game, our game, whatever.”
Johnson, who was born in Iowa and went to Drake, was in town to speak at the Young Business Leaders’ fall banquet at Birmingham’s Harbert Center, according to this report.
“He just stopped by to say hello,” Saban told reporters. “We gave him a tour of the building. I’m not working on anything except Ole Miss, not that my short game doesn’t need it. But I don’t have to worry about that until March.”
