Retail therapy: Some consolation for Garcia

RSS

On Friday at Dove Mountain, Sergio Garcia's playing competitor Rickie Fowler faced an 18-foot par putt on the seventh hole to Garcia's 4-footer for par. Garcia, having taken a long time on the sixth hole because of a ruling that involved his ball being surrounded by bees, "felt bad" and offered to go "good-good" with the putts in order to move things along and get back on pace.

Garcia was 2 up at the time, got to 3 up after the following hole, but ultimately lost the match, 1 down.

The friendly gesture has since inspired a golf fan to create this t-shirt (see below) that reads, "Keep calm and concede 20-footers" on CustomInk's website.

It's usually the act of shopping that helps boost one's mood when we're feeling down, but in Sergio Garcia's case, this t-shirt is serving up an extra helping of condolences. And who knows? Garcia's random act of kindness might just become a fashion statement.
