This socks: Ladies' patriotism not enough to lift USA

RSS

It looked dismal for Team USA - who trailed Europe 10-6 through two days of the 40th Ryder Cup - as they readied for Sunday singles. But some LPGA ladies still believed, and took to social media to post well wishes for America, sporting red, white and blue. Unfortunately, well wishes don't win championships, and Europe came out on top at Gleneagles.

Here are some of the ladies' posts:

Anna Rawson captioned this photo, "My @gfore USA socks aren't helping!! europe too good!! #rydercup"

Lexi Thompson wrote, "America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand #gousa #rydercup"
