Open for bid-ness: Buy Rory's winning British ball

RSS

It was a Nike RZN Black golf ball that Rory McIlroy used to win the 143rd Open Championship earlier this month at Royal Liverpool.

You can buy a whole dozen of them for $45.99. Or if you've got a few more bucks in the bank, you can buy the Nike RZN Black ball that found the bottom of the cup on the 72nd hole that Sunday.

Green Jacket Auctions retrieved the ball McIlroy threw into the crowd that was caught by Lee Horner of Leeds, England. The golf ball is now up for auction until Aug. 9 at 8 p.m. ET.

At the time this article was written, the current bid was around $3,500.

McIlroy may have discarded that ball, but you know what they say ... one man's trash is another man's treasure.
