Tony Romo told the Dallas Morning News on Monday that he's stepping away from the game.
"It's been awhile," Romo said of the last time he teed it up. "Almost a year and a half."
Seems a lengthy time in between rounds for a man who has participated in U.S. Open qualifying events in years past.
Perhaps the Cowboys QB's two back surgeries last year - one in April and another in December - have something to do with it.
"You've got to get yourself healthy then figure out where you're at and go from there for everything," Romo said. "It's not just golf. It's a way you live life.
"I don't think about it as [giving up] golf. It's just life. You want to give yourself the best chance to succeed on the football field."
Since we won't be seeing Romo on the links any time soon, here's a look back at happier times spent on the golf course:
