Without a doubt, we have been to some great places this year filming The Haney Project with Rush Limbaugh and this week’s show was just awesome as well. We went to Donald Trump’s course in LA on the Pacific Ocean, Trump National LA. What a great spot! Tough course, but beautiful.
Rush wanted to go to LA and play with his friend, the great sports commentator, Al Michaels, to see how he would do. I like the fact that Rush isn’t scared to display his new game and test it out. I think Al was pretty impressed with what he saw; Rush has definitely improved and Al can definitely see it because he has played a lot of golf with Rush. The two of them played and then Suzanne and I came out the next day to check Rush out and go over how he did and what he needed to still work on.
Like most golfers, Rush slips back into his same old mistakes. We all do it. His backswing gets inside and flat in the middle of his swing and then the club gets upright at the top of his swing. From there, Rush starts down steep and stands straight up out of his posture. The good news is that he doesn’t do it as much or as frequently as he did before.
I was really impressed with the fact that Rush now will actually try to think his way through what he is doing wrong and he is keeping his frustration under control. This is a huge breakthrough for any golfer and especially Rush. I always felt that if Rush would use what is his greatest asset, his mind, he could figure out how to take his game to the next level. I think the best thing I have been able to do with Rush is help him think for himself better.
Suzanne has been practicing and she is starting to swing so much better. I am starting to work on her short game and putting more because like all beginner golfers, those parts are a little lacking, but she is doing great. She is going to be a good golfer in no time.
Thanks for watching. We are coming to the end of the show and I am pleased with how my projects are doing.
All the best,
