On and Off the Course In Style

Wow, what a spectacular 2008 PGA Merchandise Show! Where do I begin? On Thursday, I set out to embark upon my day at the PGA Merchandise Show. I valet parked and walked towards the west concourse of the Orange County Convention Center. As I glided up the escalator I wondered what this years show had in store for me. I walked down the 2nd floor corridor, of the west concourse, and saw the staple, large windows that allow you panoramic view of the first floor of the Orange County Convention Center; I was in AWE of the PGA Merchandise Show beneath me. The color, lights, signs, pictures, clothing, clubs, golf carts, etc., I was overwhelmed yet very excited!
I walked in the show and felt the exhilaration building. I couldnt wait to see the golf apparel and accessories as well as the golf clubs, bags, and all other golf paraphernalia! The apparel and accessories section was in the infrastructure of downtown Manhattan; they had built character driven walls around their exhibits. As I started winding my way around the aisles I saw all the large iconic designers such as Nike Golf, Calloway, Greg Norman, Ashworth, PING, J.Lindeberg, Under Armour, Addidas, Bobby Jones, and Nick Price and the chic womens designers such as EP, Liz Claiborne, Lily, Jofit, and Amanda Palmer. In the specialty arena, were designers such as Bugatchi, Tommy Bahama, and Ralph Lauren. In addition, I was introduced to eye catching smaller designers such as Golftini, ISIS Sport, and kemestry. I was in a wonderland of fantastic clothing and accessories for both on and off the course!
While I was pleasantly being introduced to each designers new lines of clothing, I kept hearing the phrase lifestyle clothing. I thought what is it? I noticed the golf retailers have definitely modernized their mens and womens clothing lines with color, fabric, design and cut which is very much appreciated but what makes their lines lifestyle clothing. Well, I found out. They have crafted their clothes to transition into anytime or place clothing from casual to work to social occasions. While you have always been able to wear golf clothing on and off the course, the new lifestyle clothing has a smart, trendy, modern and classy look. I know men and women, of all ages, will enjoy the clothing and accessories of 2008. I look forward to bringing you different designers each month from clothing to accessories so you can experience their wonderful creations that makes each unique.
Thursday at the PGA Merchandise Show was spectacular but I could not see everything I wanted. So on Saturday I went back to pick up where I left off to see even more exciting things. Stay tuned!
