ST. ANDREWS, Scotland – The Tiger Woods stuff just will not die. He met with the media on Tuesday here at the Old Course, but it didn’t stop more questions the next day.
The R&A gave its annual news conference Wednesday and among the most asked questions by the British press were regarding one Eldrick T. Woods.
R&A chief executive Peter Dawson was asked numerous questions on Woods demeanor, if they’ve had interactions this week and if he would respond to the comments made back in April by Augusta National chairman Billy Payne, who criticized Woods and his off-course behavior.
“You’ll notice we haven’t made such a statement,” Dawson said. “I think Tiger regrets many of the things of the past and as he’s said, he is trying to put them right. Let’s hope this week is the week he gets his game back.”
