The Golf Channels 2001 Jr Golf Skills Competition is ready to tee off

All of us on The Golf Channel's Jr. Golf Skills Competition Team are excited about the 2001 season. This year we will be visiting over 40 U.S. states and 100 cities including Hawaii and parts of Canada. We have added another bus to our tour, so look for the 'Mississippi Queen' which will be traveling up and down the east coast, and look for the 'Maverick' which will be traveling to cities in the central and western parts of the U.S. and Canada. The Golf Channel's Jr. Golf Skills Competition Team is getting pumped up for the kickoff event, which will be held at The Celebration Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, on Saturday, March 10th. After the opening event, the buses will come rolling into a city near you, so stay on the lookout for the big blue buses.

In addition to our Jr. Golf Skills Competition Events, we are starting to bring our Golf In Education program into schools in California. We are excited about this new program that brings the game of golf into fourth grade schools. This program allows students and teachers to learn about golf through workbook exercises on the topics of language arts, social studies, math, science, art, and physical education. We have seen a great response to this program, so look for Golf In Education at your school.
The Golf Channel's Drive, Chip, & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition is extremely excited and proud to have Titleist & Footjoy WorldWide, Golf Digest, and Outback Steakhouse as our presenting sponsors. Look for these sponsors at our events and on The Golf Channel. Of course you can get the full schedule, results and stories by checking out other parts of The Golf Channel's Website.
