The Links at Lighthouse Sound Event

RSS

The Golf Channel's Drive, Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition headed to Bishopsville, Maryland for the 65th event of the season. On Saturday, July 21, 110 golfers participated at the Links at Lighthouse Sound Country Club. This unbelievably beautiful golf facility played host not only to a regular Junior Golf Skills Event, but also to The Chespeake Regional Finals.

On a perfect summer day, 72 golfers from eight different events (Fairfax County, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Reading, Harrisburg, Washington DC, Cherry Hill, and Bishopsville) participated in the Chesapeake Regional Finals. All of these golfers were trying to qualify for The National Finals, which will be held at Walt Disney World in October.

For only the second time in the history of The Golf Channel's Drive, Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition did a participant qualify for The National Finals for a second time. David Sanders, a 1999 National Finalist, once again topped all golfers in the 9&10 division in 2001 in The Chesapeake Regional Finals. This wasn't an easy task, as David competed with three other National Finalists from last year.

Congratulations to all participants for a job well done!
