Little Rock Area Junior Golfers Advance to the Mutual of Omaha Drive Chip Putt Regional Championships

Little Rock, Ark., March 24 ' A total of 135 junior golfers from the Little Rock area turned out at The Jack Stephens Golf Academy in Little Rock on Saturday to learn about the game of golf and test their golf skills at the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt Local Championship, presented by the GOLF CHANNEL.

The top-three best combined performances in each age group advance to the Cajun Regional Championship in Shreveport on Sunday, April 22.
A free competition for juniors between the ages of 7-14, a total of 18 prizes were awarded in each of four age groups ' one to each of the top five in driving, chipping and putting - as well as the top three rankings for the best combined overall performance. Winning participants from the regional championship will advance to the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt National Championships in Orlando, Fla., in October.

We witnessed some outstanding performances from these young golfers, but at the end of the day everyone who participated was a winner, said Mutual of Omaha General Manager Paul Sharp

Now in its ninth year owned and operated by the GOLF CHANNEL, the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt junior golf program provides a positive, fun experience for kids regardless of their previous golf experience. With the help of Mutual of Omaha, Time Warner, Dicks Sporting Goods, Rixstine Recognition and Service by Air, the program has touched nearly 100,000 junior golfers and their families since the tournaments inception in 1999. In 2007 the program will visit 85 cities throughout North America and will culminate with the Mutual of Omaha Drive, Chip & Putt National Championships in October.
 
Best Combined Overall Performance
Each qualifies for the Cajun Regional Championship on April 22 and the chance to advance to the 2007 National Championships in October.
