A Record Day at Pennsauken Country Club

In The World of Junior Golf at The Golf Channel, the record books have been busy for weeks. Late in June we saw back to back events in Chicago where two brothers qualified for The Great Lakes Regional Finals, last week we saw three girls (one in each age group) qualify for the Chesapeake Regional Finals, and now- The Golf Channel's Drive, Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition has broken another record. On Saturday, July 14 at Pennsauken Country Club in Pennsauken, New Jersey, almost 220 kids participated at our Southern New Jersey Event.

The previous record had been held by Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston, Texas where 209 golfers participated in May. However, it is no surprise to The Golf Channel that the new record was broken at Pennsauken Country Club. Quentin Griffith III, PGA Professional at Pennsauken C.C. is in large part, responsible for a record-breaking event. Not only is 'Q'a huge supporter of junior golf, but a great friend to The Golf Channel.

This event was also a milestone for junior golf at The Golf Channel. Pennsauken Country Club was one of the original 30 host sites in 1999, and on July 14, 2001, this Southern New Jersey event marked our 150th Event ever!

The Golf Channel would like to thank all participants, sponsors, parents, volunteers, and Pennsauken C.C. Staff for an outstanding event!
