One week after Tiger Woods won Jack Nicklaus's Memorial in Dublin, Ohio, and just days after the rains stopped, 180 Jr. Golfers made their way to The Safari Golf Course at The Columbus Zoo to give themselves a chance to qualify for the Speedway Regional Final. This was the second year that The Golf Channel's Drive Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition made it's way to The Safari Golf Course in Powell, Ohio and we are extremely happy that we did so. This event was one of the most successful events of the year and we are greatful for the effort that Mike Crotty and his staff at Safari put into this event. Safari has been a landmark for our Jr. Golf Skills Program and we are happy to say that we will be back next year.
Just one day after our event in Powell, we headed down to Cincinnati for an event at The Golf Center at Kings Island. This was the second year that our program made it to The Golf Center and the kids produced some more great golf shots and again were some of the more polite children we come across throughout the year. With the help of Margie Nolting and her staff at The Golf Center we had another great event in Cincinnati. Nine Jr. Golfers qualified for The Speedway Regional Final and will be competing against 54 other Jr. Golfers on September 30 in Indianapolis, IN.
