On the week of the LPGAs Corning Classic, The Golf Channel held its Drive, Chip and Putt Junior Golf Skills Competition in the Corning, New York area for the third consecutive year. The junior golfers from the Corning area put on a show that the LPGA players would be proud of. Despite a threat of foul weather the junior golfers from Corning showed up enthusiastic and ready to show off their skills. By the start of the competition the skies cleared providing a beautiful summer day, and a perfect atmosphere for great golf. The LPGA was not the only golf organization making its presence felt out at Willow Creek Golf Course on Wednesday. It was great to see Jamison Sindelar, son of PGA tour player Joey Sindelar, qualify for the Regional Final in Rochester. We also enjoyed seeing many of the kids who were part of The Golf Channels Golf in Education program also come out and participate in the Junior Golf Skills Competition. The Corning Junior Golf Skills Competition and the Corning Classic will always be one of The Golf Channels favorite stops.
