Spotlight Article: First Parent-Child Event held in Fond du Lac
As the Drive, Chip and Putt Competition moved to Fond du Lac, WI on Thursday the heat and parents came with. The competition kicked off the first Parent-Child event at Whispering Springs Golf Club, where Brian Zinda and volunteers lent their services to make sure everything went well for this first time event. Many tears were shed when the Sabel Family saw their son Zachary take the 7-8 year old division. Zachary was diagnosed with Hydrodrocephalus, which is a brain disease, and needed surgery in January of this year. The surgery that took place just six months ago limited Zachary to one sport, golf. This disease stripped one sport from Zachary, where he was a yellow belt in Judo, but introduced one other to him, the beautiful game of golf. Since Zacharys surgery the head golf professional at Whispering Springs Golf Club, Brian Zinda, has let Zachary come out to the course anytime he wants to practice or play. All the luck in the world goes out to the Sabel Family and Zachary as we will see them in Madison, WI for the regional finals on July 28.
