SPOTLIGHT-Boston and Fairfax County

RSS

The Golf Channels Drive, Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition made its way into Massachusetts for one of two events that will be held in the Boston area this year. Our first event was held at Glen Ellen Country Club on Tuesday, April 24 were 80 jr. golfers tested their skills in hopes for a chance at the 2001 JGS National Finals held in Orlando this coming October. Returning stars such as Brittaney Weddell, Taylor Bowen and Cole Childs and many newcomers to our Jr. Golf Skills program made this event a true success. The second event held in the Boston area will be on June 23 at Franklin Park Golf Course in Dorcester, MA. We hope that all of you who attended the first event at Glen Ellen will join us for the second event over at Franklin Park.

After the JGS team finished cleaning up in Boston, they headed down to Fairfax County, Virginia for the first event ever held in Clifton, Virginia. With a setting made for Presidents, 130 Jr. Golfers made a tough competition look easy at Westfields Golf Club. It was great to see families from the past, such as the Amira Family and the Bishop family, and new families that will make the future of The Golf Channels Drive, Chip & Putt Jr. Golf Skills Competition very exciting.
