Wie Draws Record Crowds


2004 Evian MastersMichelle Wie, playing in her 15th LPGA tournament, including two U.S. Women's Opens, drew record crowds and media attendance to the 11th Evian Masters.
The 14-year-old shot 71-71-76-69=287 (-1), finishing under par for the fifth time in LPGA events, and tied for 33rd.
Media from all over Europe, including Sweden, Germany, England, traveled to France to cover the international phenom.
Wie's visit to Evian was highlighted by a visit from German PGA Tour star Bernhard Langer, who met her after the third round and gave her putting tips. Wie's final-round 69 was the fourth-lowest final round of the tournament.
