This is a very special week for me in many ways, the defending champion admitted.

First of all, its just nice to come to Europe, where Im from and where I used to play. Secondly, this is our Masters. Its a great event for the players. They take such good care of us. This is really a first class event. Thirdly, I won here last year. So I have some great memories.
Sorenstam shot rounds of 70-68-70-68=276 to tie with Karrie Webb in regulation play and claimed the win in a sudden-death playoff.
Since winning the Evian Masters in 2000 Sorenstam has won seven more events.
