Trump Gives Top-30 White Glove Treatment

The Tyco/ADT Championship is a very special event and Donald Trump has gone out of his way to ensure that the participants know just how special a week it is.

Were definitely very spoiled this week from start to finish, Karrie Webb said in a press conference Tuesday. I mean, everything, obviously from the hotel (Mara Lago) to the courtesy cars (BMW) ' just the food that we get at lunch. I mean, we get white linen napkins - a menu to pick from.

You know, this tournament is already a reward for good golf. The fact that he has made it that little bit more special is even more of a reward.

Although most of the field is staying at the luxurious Mara Lago hotel, Webb will return to the comforts of her own home in Boynton Beach each night. Obviously, I think anytime you can wake up in your own bed when youre used to waking up in a hotel room is definitely a bonus.

Webb has the added bonus of having played Trump International Golf Club prior to this week and finds the Fazio design to her liking. I like the way the course is set up because it gives you a lot of options,' she said. 'It gives the longer hitters a chance to play aggressive, if they want. I really like it too, just because I think I just about hit every club in my bag this week, and we dont get to do that very often.

The course, which gives the impression of being in an oasis far away from the surrounding urban trappings, will be anything but a walk in the park. The par-72 could get tricky if, or rather when, winds picks up. I think the course is going to require some good golf this week to get around. I think if the wind gets up, its going to be difficult to shoot low, Webb said.

Defending champion Dottie Pepper, a member of Trump International G.C., echoes Webbs sentiments. The wind obviously has a huge impact on Florida golf. I would anticipate at some point it will have an impact this week. The golf course plays completely different, whether it blows from the prevailing northeast at this time of the year or the southeast wind we typically have in the summertime.'

Pepper is feeling good about her game in spite of an on-going battle with a condition known as Epstein-Barr. She was diagnosed with it this summer and now battles with symptoms that include numbness and chronic fatigue. I just had absolutely no energy ' none at all, the 13-year veteran said.

Pepper treats her condition with B-12 shots and holistic medicine.
