Canadian Tour Names Mansfield President

Canadian Tour-LargeIan D. Mansfield has accepted the position of Canadian Tour Commissioner, effective March 4.
Mansfield has served as an independent director on the Board of Directors for the past year. In the next 5-1/2 weeks, Mansfield will act as commissioner-elect and will work hand-in-hand with outgoing Commissioner Jacques Burelle to ensure a smooth transition.
Mansfield, who hails from Vancouver, said he is excited yet cautious of his new role, adding he will rely on advice from the current Board of Directors and Tour staff as he eases into the position.
While I understand this will be a new challenge, I have a dedicated and experienced staff who know how to run tournaments and
have a professional relationship with the stakeholders of the Canadian Tour, said Mansfield, who is married (wife Lynn) and has two grown daughters (Allison and Sarah). There is no doubt in my mind that together we will make the learning curve an easy one.
An avid golfer and boater, Mansfield is also the co-founder and owner of the British Columbia Hockey Leagues Junior A Coquitlam Express, a director for and serves as a member of the Orca Bay Advisory Council. He has completed management studies at Harvard, the University of Southern California, the Banff School of Advanced Management as well as the British Columbia Institute of Technology.
Under Jacques (Burelles) direction, the value and profile of the Canadian Tour have increased dramatically, and we now have a worldwide presence, added Mansfield. It is my responsibility to take the torch from Jacques and carry on the tradition, just as he did with (former Commissioners) Dick Grimm and Bob Beauchemin before him.
