Hend Puts Finishing Touches On Course Record In Myrtle Beach

Mar. 9, 2001 -- Scott Hend of Australia capped off a course-record 8-under-par 64 this morning to take over top spot as the first round winds down at the South Carolina Challenge.
Finishing off his opening round on the front nine, Hend birdied the sixth and seventh holes before draining an eagle on the par-5 7th.

Paul Devenport of New Zealand is in second at 5-under.

The second round began at 8:15 this morning.

A one-hour forty-five minute frost delay Friday morning led to the first round being halted last night at 6:20 p.m. before getting back underway this morning at 7:20 a.m. on Barefoot Resort's Davis Love III course.
