Kuehne Scott Lead Field at Myrtle Beach

MYRTLE BEACH, SC ' The Canadian Tour closes out its two-event run through South Carolina with this weeks Myrtle Beach Barefoot Championship.
 
A total of 156 players will take on the challenging 7257-yard, par-71 Pete Dye course at Barefoot Resort in the Tours seventh official event of the season.
 
The field will be led by Hank Kuehne, who continues to lead the Order of Merit standings with Steve Scott in second. Kuehne, the 1998 U.S. amateur champion, tied for 26th last week, the first time in five Tour events that he hasnt recorded a top-five result. McMillan, 26, is fourth in earnings, Derek Gillespie is ninth and Hearn sits in 20th spot.
 
Last weekend, Canadian Rob McMillan won his third Tour event with a three-shot victory at the Barefoot Classic at the neighbouring Greg Norman course. Paul Scaletta, who qualified for the event last Monday, was second while rookie David Hearn finished third. McMillan will not play this week as he has a previous commitment in his hometown. Scaletta and Hearn are in the starting field.
 
The Barefoot Classic was the first event in the past 20 where a Canadian Tour player did not set or tie a course record. American Dave Christensen still holds the Norman course record with an 8-under 64 last year.
 
Scott Ford captured this event a year ago when he wound up at 10-under 206, two shots better than Christensen, Jess Daley, David Faught and Patrick Moore.
 
Casey Martin will also play his second consecutive Tour event on a Golf Channel exemption.
