Top Two Canadians to Get Q-School Exemption


Canadian Tour-LargeCalling it a watershed moment in the history of the Canadian Tour, commissioner Jacques Burelle announced today that the long sought-after link with the PGA Tour had been realized.
Beginning this coming season, the top two players off the Canadian Tours Order of Merit as of mid-September will be granted exemption into the second stage of the PGA Tour Qualifying School, a first for the Canadian Tour.
Obviously this recognition and endorsement by the PGA Tour is an enormous step forward for our Tour, said an elated Burelle. I want to thank commissioner Tim Finchem, his staff and the PGA Tour Policy Board for their continued support of our efforts.
The Canadian Tour is an associate member of the International Federation of PGA Tours and all its official money tournaments are included in the World Golf Rankings. The Tours top 30 players from the Order of Merit are currently exempted into the final qualifying stage for the following years British Open.
