RSS

*Pat Perezs four-shot advantage is the largest 36-hole lead at this event since 1973. Billy Casper shot 66-67 to lead by four shots at the halfway point over Orville Moody. Jack Nicklaus eventually won the tournament. Casper tied for seventh.

*Jesper Parnevik parred all 18 holes in shooting an even-par 72 at Poppy Hills Friday.

*Boo Weekley did it. The 28-year-old Southerner played Pebble Beach in camouflage rain pants. Weekley, who wears rain pants because regular pants irritate his skin, shot 5-over 77.

*Frank Nobilo withdrew Friday, prior to his second round, because of food poisoning.

*Overnight leader Brent Schwarzrock followed his opening 64 at Pebble Beach with a second-round 75 at Poppy Hills. Schwarzrock was 9-under for the tournament through 10 holes of his second round, but played his final eight holes in 4-over. He stands at 5-under through 36 holes, eight shots off the lead.

*Matt Kuchar was at 8-under for the event before triple bogeying the par-4 10th at Pebble Beach. He dropped one more shot in carding an even-par 72. Hes at 4-under-par.
