With winning the FedExCup, playing in his first Ryder Cup, and becoming a father to his second child, it has been a very busy couple of months to say the least. His professional life has certainly changed but for right now he is enjoying being a Dad to his second child before going to China next week for the WGC-HSBC Champions.
To end his 2012 PGA TOUR season, he played 11 straight tournaments so he has been taking a few weeks off from competitive golf following what happened in the Ryder Cup. While the break has been needed, he is ready to get back to competition next week.
On Sunday in the Ryder Cup, Snedeker said that he was surprisingly calm during his Singles match which he did not expect. He did not overreact to any situation during the match but he admitted that he has had a harder time making sense of the ending of the Ryder Cup. Even though the loss stung, it was one of the greatest weeks of his life and following the loss he has been able to seek advice from his friends who have been in that situation in the past.
It was remarkable how close the U.S. team became during the week at Medinah. Davis Love III was an excellent Captain and the team room provided a great atmosphere for 12 individuals to become close teammates who rallied around the cause of winning the Ryder Cup for the U.S. While the U.S. ultimately did not win, it was still an unbelievable experience.
You are judged in your career by how you perform in the Majors but his FedExCup win certainly ranks as one of the greatest honors of his career and it will always be one of the biggest moments of his career.
When he was asked about the Web.com Tour Championship, he said that he plans to watch because he is a big fan of golf in general and because he is friends with a number of players who are in the field at TPC Craig Ranch. He is very appreciative of the Web.com Tour because that was how he earned his first PGA TOUR card for the 2007 season after failing to advance through the final stage of Q School.
Finally, Snedeker said that he would love to guest host Morning Drive any time and he appreciates that he has an open invitation to come to the Orlando studio. He added that the pace of the show may have to slow down for him because he talks very fast but he loves Morning Drive and he would love to be a part of it in studio sometime.
