2012 PGA TOUR Rookie and Jacksonville, FL native Bud Cauley is making his PLAYERS debut this week. He has been to the tournament countless times so he is very excited to be making his first appearance in THE PLAYERS thanks to his FedExCup Points performance in 2012.
He recently became a member of Medalist Golf Club in Jupiter, FL and it is great to be able to play at such a great course and be able to play with countless other pros. Living in Jupiter is a lot of fun and it is great to be able to go a short distance to the course and practice.
Along with attending the tournament many times, he has played THE PLAYERS Stadium Course many times. In fact, he played nine holes yesterday and plans to play 18 holes today.
Everything he has done so far as a pro started with the 2011 U.S. Open where he qualified to get into the field and then proved to himself that he could perform well on a big stage with big pressure. Cauley said he gained a lot of inspiration from watching Rickie Fowler win in Charlotte yesterday. It was only a matter of time before he earned his first win and now that he has, the sky is the limit not only for Rickie but also for many other young players including himself.
A lot of his friends and family will be watching him this week at TPC Sawgrass and when asked about his very exuberant father, Cauley said that his father may be the least of his worries when it comes to all of the people he knows who will be following him.
