2-time PGA TOUR winner Charles Howell III is a member of Team Isleworth in the 2012 Tavistock Cup and called the show as his team was getting ready to fly to Lake Nona in a helicopter over Orlando, FL. It is a different feeling because he does not typically take helicopters to PGA TOUR events but the Tavistock Cup is not a typical event. This is such a fun event and having great players like Tiger Woods involved makes it even more special. His teammate on day one is Bubba Watson and Bubba will be the one giving the pep talks. The game plan is to let Bubba do what Bubba wants to do and let him play Bubba golf against Tiger Woods and Justin Rose. Charles added that it is easy to trash talk in a match when you have a teammate that can hit a drive 350 yards.
The biggest story of 2012 in his opinion has been the change in the #1 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking. Luke Donald held the spot for 40 weeks before Rory McIlroy took it over two weeks ago and now Donald is #1 again.
He joked that he is preparing for The Masters by spending a lot of time in church and praying. As an Augusta native, he is very excited to be invited to The Masters again for the first time in a few years and he plans to go up to Augusta after the Arnold Palmer Invitational and play at Augusta National on Monday and Tuesday. He may be an Augusta native but because his best finish at The Masters is T13 back in 2004 he may not be the best person to seek out for local knowledge.
