David Frost - April 24, 2012

David Frost earned his 2nd career Champions Tour win on Sunday by teaming with Michael Allen to win the Liberty Mutual Insurance Legends of Golf. Frost also won 10 times on the PGA TOUR. Frost said that team play is obviously very different from other events but when you have a teammate like Michael Allen who makes a lot of birdies you end up doing pretty well. There are not really any bad things about team play but one of the good things about it is that you know if you hit a bad shot, you will have a teammate who can bail you and the team out. He added that a bad thing is letting your partner down while a great thing is being able to pick your partner up.

He does not think that there should be 10 team events a year but 1 is definitely a good thing for the Champions Tour. Everyone has a lot of fun when they play in the Legends of Golf and team play is a great format. Another fun aspect is that you are able to choose your playing partners and as a result you have great pairs who have great chemistry together.

Frost has known about Branden Grace for a number of years and like many young players out of South Africa, they came up through strong junior programs and Grace is no different. The junior programs in South Africa are strong and as a result many graduates of those programs go on to have great careers.

He has been involved in the wine business for a number of years and he first entered the business when he was trying to figure out something to do with his life and career after his time in competitive golf ended. He really enjoys being in the business and is happy to see how well his company is doing.
