SiriusXM PGA TOUR Radio Analyst and PGA TOUR winner Dennis Paulson is in Marana, Arizona for the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Hunter Mahan changed his putter on the Monday of this week in Arizona. He did not putt well at all at Riviera last week and he changed the style of his putter which among other things has helped his ability to aim his putts.

Tiger Woods did not play well in the first round although he won but he played well in the second round although he lost. When it comes down to it, short game is Tiger’s biggest problem. From tee to green, Tiger hit some amazing shots this week and if he can keep that area of his game the same while improving his short game, he will be contention at The Honda Classic.

In his opinion, Rory McIlroy has not been playing as solid as the other three semifinalists but he has been able to play well enough to make it to this point. Rory is the most volatile in terms of his game among the four semifinalists and it is possible that Rory will be in the desert for most of his match with Lee Westwood.

He thinks that it is possible that Rory McIlroy and Lee Westwood could become the European version of Tiger and Phil in terms of rivalry. They are arguably the two best players on the European Tour and there is also a healthy amount of tension and possible animosity as well which creates some drama just like Tiger and Phil do.
