Ernie Els - March 12, 2012

World Golf Hall of Fame Member Ernie Els is hosting the Pro-Am event for his Els For Autism Foundation today at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. This is the 4th year of this event and he has been able to team up with some great sponsors to raise money to help people affected with autism as well as their families. This year the money raised will go towards building a world-class facility that will teach and help people with autism.

He has had a lot of help from great friends and great people who work very hard to raise awareness for autism through organizations like Autism Speaks. The Els for Autism Golf Challenge will be held across many courses around the country that will raise awareness in many different places. The foundation will throw a big party for people who raise more than $10,000 and while there is some fun involved with the work here, at the end of the day they want to raise as much money as possible to fight autism.

Looking ahead, he really wants to earn an invitation to The Masters. He has had some good practice sessions but unfortunately he did not qualify for the WGC-Cadillac Championship at Doral where he has had success in the past. There are only a few weeks left, but he is hopeful that he will be able to earn an invitation for this year’s Masters.
