With 11 major champions in the field, it's David Mathis who held a one-shot lead thru 1 round of the Travelers Championship. He had six birdies and a hole-in-one en route to a 64.
- Strong Defense
Fredrik Jacobson is in good position to become the first player to defend his Travelers Championship since Phil Mickelson in 2002. He shot a 5-under 65 in the 1st round that included 7 birdies and a double bogey.
- Shanshan Shines
Fresh off her first major championship win, Shanshan Feng is tied for 2nd place and is just 3 shots back in the Manulife Financial LPGA Classic. Lightning delayed the first round with 72 players still on the course.
- Lee's Big Move
Lee Westwood is moving to the United States. Westwood says he will move from England to the West Palm Beach, Florida area at the end of 2012 so he can practice year-round.
